Southern Baptist Convention controversy oral history collection [videorecording]. 1994.

This collection includes videorecordings of 26 interviews with some of the major participants in the controversy in the Southern Baptist Convention. The interviews were both video and audio recorded. Interviewees included: Roy Honeycutt, R. Albert Mohler, Jr., Paul Pressler, Paige Patterson, Harold Bennett, Mark Coppenger, Carolyn Weatherford Crumpler, Lloyd Elder, Charles Fuller, Richard Land, Gary Ledbetter, Larry Lewis, Robert Tenery, Dan Vestal, Cecil Sherman, Bill Sherman, Nancy Sehested, Keith Parks, M.O. Owens, Randall Lolly, Stan Hastey, W.C. Fields, James Dunn, James T. Draper, Russell Dilday, and Grady Cothen. The interviews focused on the roots of the controversy, the key events and leaders, the role of the press, their perspectives on the differences in the Southern Baptist family, the evaluation of the Peace Committee work, and what effect the controversy has had on mission and ministry efforts. All of the interviews were conducted by Bill Sumners, Director, Southern Baptist Historical Library and Archives.
